Video games have made the leap to the big screen in a big way, and we’re celebrating the genre with a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations for movies and shows. Clive Standen will reprise his voice role as Demetrius Titus, the main character from the video game Space Marine 2. The episode is set after the events of the game.
They feel like apprenticeships
The animation is beautiful, there’s no denying that. I have a hard time getting excited about episodes this short. I can’t get fully enthralled because you know it’s over before you even get any kind of connection to the characters. It was nice to see some celebrity involvement.
The Pacman episode was okay
Reeves and Arnie both have enjoyable roles. It’s all a bit too experimental and shallow for me. Plus, if only I had the chance to pick up the source material. I think I would have picked a completely different set of games to pay homage to.
6 for the visuals
But it was a demonstration of taking artistic license to its absolute limit. At least it made me laugh. Overall, I found the entire series a bit disappointing. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of this month.
