Best New Series, after the disappointing fourth season of Jack Ryan and lackluster shows around, this was much better in every way. It looks really good and the action/fight scenes look great.
I feel like most of the criticisms leveled at this series in the comments section boil down to how unrealistic it is because of the whole operator thing, and I, the guy, don’t mind a good female-led action series that’s an original IP that doesn’t turn the male lead into the female lead role. Also at first I thought it was going to be more of a no frills action show but then they dove into the family a bit and I usually cringe but I didn’t like what they were doing there.
My only criticism is that the plot of what this particular group of operatives are doing is very limiting to the story and could kill it later in the season/villain plot… they need to cover more so they can create a new, more action-intensive, fast-paced Homeland or it risks becoming too episodic like The BlacklistPS: Nicole Kidman’s role so far is incredibly small and quiet and could have been played by anyone else…
But from what I’ve seen so far, the performance would have been able to stand alone with Zaldan without any other A-Listers.TLDR Overall, cautiously optimistic but I like what I’ve seen so far, everything is incredibly polished and well done.
