Lee Miller: [Hands a knife to a girl she just saved from rape] Stop next time.. The end credits include some explanation of “what happened”; and some of Lee’s original photographs, often alongside those recreated for the film.. Tried 2 films today that I knew next to nothing about.
But it doesn’t really bring anything new
Strangelove was fantastic and original, and then I saw Lee. Again, the lead is strong, and it’s a good historical film. It’s really Kate Winslet’s show here, and she’s good.
The story is good, too
Especially towards the end of the film. It builds up to the bigger point of the film, after a first half that has a few fillers. There are just a few questionable attempts to spice things up a bit, as it’s a straight-forward story.
Overall, it’s a good film
The romance isn’t the story here, so maybe wait for the parts that focus more on the main WWII plot. It just doesn’t have anything that makes it any more great.
