It is pure joy to watch this Colombian cinematic marvel. The film adaptation exceeded my expectations and eliminated any fears of a potentially disastrous attempt to make a decent film from a very cold and “unfilmable” film. The novel Totally authentic and magical in my eyes. Bravo to the Colombian creators and the Colombian crew for a very careful, thoughtful, and sensitive adaptation [of one of the most beautiful novels ever written! The costumes, colonial architecture, interior design of the buildings, and the carefully selected musical accompaniment create an unforgettable atmosphere of Colombian magic in every detail.
